Scabiosa columbaria ‘Blue Eyes’

Meet Scabiosa ‘Blue Eyes’, an innovative Scabiosa hybrid bred by Prof. Kim and Mr Kwan at the Seoha Breeding Institute in Korea. The most spectacular about ‘Blue Eyes’ is the incredible flower power: one plant produces over 50 (!) violet-purple flowers that are neatly gathered around the round, mounded habit. The abundance of flowers will bloom from spring into summer and opposite of most Scabiosa, ‘Blue Eyes’ flowers are very neat and will not flop! But what makes ‘Blue Eyes’ genuinely stand out is the natural mounded, low growth habit and impressive speed of growth. ‘Blue Eyes’ grows from URC to RC in no more than one week and from RC to 10.5 cm pot in six months. The mounded, low growth habit and short flower stems make ‘Blue Eyes’ perfectly suited as a low groundcover or for pots and landscaping.
